Manual Machinist $38 to 40 per hour

Job Description :
Our client has been in business for decades and has experienced tremendous success providing custom machining to some of the biggest players in Canada's heavy industrial sectors.  The shop is filled with long-term employees who look out for each other.  The culture within the group of tradespeople is defined by looking out for each other, working hard, and approaching the job with a high level of craftsmanship and pride in quality of work.  Due to expansion and acquisition of customers in new markets, there is currently a need to hire an experienced manual machinist.  The incoming candidate should have a demonstrated track record of success performing manual machining of parts and components for large industry (oil and gas, pulp and paper, forestry, rail, construction to name some examples).  The incoming candidate should be experienced with large lathes and boring mills (horizontal and vertical) and be confident handling big equipment, ability to read drawings is also necessary.  This is a contract position, full-time day shift Mon-Fri.  You will have the option to become a permanent employee after 6 months if you are performing well and want a long term position, however we only require a 6 month commitment at this time.
Required Qualifications :

-5 plus years of manual machining experience

-heavy industry background (pulp and paper, forestry, oil and gas, rail, construction for example)

-able to run lathe, milling machine and horizontal boring mill

-track record of good attitude and history of getting along well with co-workers
