Industrial Electrician (12 hour shifts $50-53 per hour)
We are seeking a talented Industrial Electrician for a high speed automated industrial manufacturing operation.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a manufacturing facility with a clean and well organized shop with great management and a strong group of co-workers. The successfully hired electricians will plan, coordinate and perform electrical troubleshooting, construction, maintenance and repair of electric power, lighting and communication systems of buildings, manufacturing/production equipment, and systems.
Duties:
-Planning new or modified installation to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
-Preparing sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring.
-Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling and installing electrical conduit.
-Pulling wiring through conduit.
-Splicing wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps.
-Connecting wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
-Installing control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels.
-Connecting power cables to equipment such as electric range or motor and installs grounding leads.
-Testing continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as Ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.
Qualified candidates will be ticketed (Red Seal) electricians with maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong troubleshooting experience is required, as well is a high degree of familiarity with hydraulic & pneumatic systems. A strong automation troubleshooting skill set is highly desirable.
Our client is offering a compensation of $50-53 per hour for Red Seal certified electrician, excellent benefits and RRSP in a union environment.
-Industrial Electrician Trade Qualification (BC or Interprovincial, Red Seal)
-5 plus years of Canadian manufacturing industry experience
-Experience performing maintenance in an automated manufacturing environment
-Able to work 12 hour shift in 3 shift pattern schedule
-Hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and machining skills an asset
-Good attitude, work ethic, and communication skills
-Legally entitled to work in Canada
