Field Service Technician (4x10)

Overview

This position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of gas supply systems. The hired candidate will be required to work on small on-site plants, freezing equipment and piping installation.  There will be an extensive training program and the role is a good fit for a candidate coming from a mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or welding/fabrication background.  You must be personable with good communication skills.

Technical Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of pipe and gas fitting


• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings


• Basic knowledge of freezing equipment


• Demonstrated welding and brazing skills


• Ability to troubleshoot electronic and computer operated controls and instrumentation


• Must be able to manage contractors and coordinate project objectives if required

Offer

-$40 to $45/hr starting based on experience. Up to $50 plus per hour after the 1st year.

-4 x 10 schedule:  6am to 430pm

-Take home service truck, tablet & laptop, phone, company credit card

• Post-Secondary education in a related discipline (C.E.T.) or Journeyman status in Electrical, Instrumentation, Refrigeration, Welding or other related trade


• Experience working with gases and related equipment considered an asset


• Strong computer skills 


• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions of a technical nature and prepare technical reports


• Must be available after-hours service calls and overtime as required


• Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time within the province of Alberta


• Ability to work independently and service a territory without direct supervision


• Physically able to perform the work in a predominantly outdoor environment


• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and job related communication skills


• Demonstrated safety awareness and safely perform current duties


• Project a positive image and be willing to adhere to the dress code for the position


• Physically fit and be able to lift up to 60 pounds


• Legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada


• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check
