 Overview

 


Our client, a renowned company within the chemical manufacturing industry, is seeking an Environment/Technical Manager for their operations in Southern Quebec.


 


You will responsible for leading all aspects of the environmental management systems, including coordinating plant improvement initiatives, providing technical support to plant operations/engineering and most importantly, ensuring efficiency and environmentally secure plant operations. The ideal candidate will visibly demonstrate the core values of sustainability and quality. 




This is a full-time role, where you will be provided a generous salary package (up to 125k) including benefits and bonus. Fluency in both written and spoken French and English language is a must.


 


 What You'll Do





  • monitor regulations to ensure compliance to all levels of regulatory requirements

  • manage relationships at the plant and government level with respect to compliance management and reporting

  • develop, maintain, and implement site environmental plans, policies and procedures while promoting continuous improvement of internal standards

  • create and maintain high performing Environmental, Laboratory and Engineering teams through individual development, performance management and effective leadership

  • lead and support incident investigations by analyzing incidents to identify root causes and areas of concern for continuous improvement purposes

  • promote good environmental and engineering practices throughout the site and share practices throughout the company 



Required Qualifications :
Qualifications





  • Minimum 8 years of manufacturing/environmental experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent

  • Proven track record of process safety and environmental team leadership, and governmental regulator relationship management

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Ability to monitor and interpret the potential impact of process safety and environmental regulatory trends on the business

  • Strong analytical skills (problem-solving, incident investigation, data analysis)

  • RCRA experience is an asset

  • Auditing experience in environment, process safety or quality is an asset

  • Must be fully fluent in both written and spoken French & English
