Job Description :
This position is a newly created role to support the growth of a mid sized truck repair company based in Southern California.
The overall scope of the position involves successfully ensuring the proper growth, training, and development of diesel mechanics in the company. The role will report to the CEO of the company, and involve directly managing 2 diesel mechanic supervisors. Your responsibility is to assess the requirements of the company, and appropriately ensure mechanics working within the company are provided adequate training, resources, knowledge, and support to effectively perform and as such, ensure the company gainfully employees and retains the diesel mechanics required to grow a profitable truck repair operation. Additionally, you will need to be strategic and work with the executive to properly forecast and implement strategies that will help fulfill growth plans in the company for the future. This is not just a classroom or theoretical training position. You will need to be in the shop and the field, take an active role in work inspections, safety meetings, hiring/discipline/terminations, and generally perform a range of management and coaching functions.

Required Qualifications :
-3 plus years of leadership, management, coaching, training experience in a truck repair environment
-Previous work experience as a diesel mechanic working on mid-large sized commercial trucks
-Strong technical knowledge in the area of truck diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance of commercial transport vehicles
-Experience working with multiple brands of trucks an asset (for example Peterbilt, Freightliner, Mack, Volvo, Sterling, International, etc.)
-Good computer skills including abilities with reporting, forecasting, budgeting using MS excel
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Legally entitled to work for any employer in the United States
