Corporate Purchasing Manager
We are recruiting for a newly created position in an established forest products manufacturing company. The role will be based in the Lower Mainland, BC area and candidates should be based between Vancouver and Chilliwack or prepared to relocate to the area ASAP.
The role entails streamlining and centralizing the systems, processes, and purchasing/buying operations under a unified umbrella. Site level purchasing activities will continue at individual production facilities. The challenge for the person coming into this position will be to evaluate each individual operation's existing systems (for example inventory), and build a department structured around ensuring quality materials and supplies within a more cost effective and organized department. Its a long-term position and will hold an important role in leading the procurement group for years to come.

-Minimum 7-10 years of purchasing, buying, procurement experience within the forest products manufacturing sector.
-Prior experience in leadership/management within a purchasing department.
-Established relationships amongst suppliers in the lumber processing sector.
-Well networked in the sawmill industry.
-Legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada.
-Available for permanent full-time position in Lower Mainland, BC area.
-Seeking long-term change management oriented position within the procurement space.
