Automation & Mechatronics Specialist ($45 to $55 per hour)


 


Join a stable, Canadian-owned company specializing in marine control and monitoring systems. Our client in Burnaby is seeking an experienced Automation & Mechatronics Specialist to contribute to their continued success.


 


About the Role:


You’ll be integral in PLC and embedded systems integration, programming, and HMI creation. This role involves assembly, testing, field service, troubleshooting, and repairs. Expect occasional travel for field service, requiring hands-on work to ensure project completion. You'll also create technical documentation, communicate with clients and regulatory bodies, and collaborate with various internal teams.




Key Responsibilities:



  • PLC programming and HMI development.

  • Embedded systems integration and programming.

  • System assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.

  • Field service installation and maintenance.

  • Technical documentation creation.

  • Client and regulatory body communication.

  • Team collaboration.

Required Qualifications :

Qualifications:



  • PLC programming and HMI experience (Opto22 or Siemens S7-1200 a plus).

  • Embedded systems/DSP programming knowledge (C environment).

  • Mechatronics Technologist/Engineer certification or equivalent experience.

  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities.

  • Familiarity with digital and analog circuits.

  • Mechanical aptitude and tool proficiency.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport.

  • Detail-oriented and organized.

  • Marine systems knowledge (asset).
