Job Description :
Our client is an established company with multiple locations in Western Canada. Their customers are throughout the US and Canada marketplace. They have had success over several decades selling and servicing heavy industrial equipment for the pulp and paper, oil and gas, rail, transportation, and manufacturing sectors. Due to a promotion in the shop, their is currently a need to hire a heavy duty mechanic. In this role you will work Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm, typically its a 40 hour week. You will do a lot of work on engines and transmissions on mobile equipment, therefore its important to understand engines and transmissions and have good mechanical aptitude, hopefully with a grasp of electrical. There will also be projects involving work on non-mobile equipment components commonly used in plant and high scale heavy production based industries. Required Qualifications :
-2-3 years of heavy duty mechanic experience with emphasis on power transmissions and heavy equipment in work history
-Interest in doing rebuild work, there is no swamping.
-High mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge is a major asset.
-Outstanding trouble shooting and problem solving capabilities.
-Clear verbal and written English skills.
-Ability to interact professionally and in a positive level headed manner with customers.
-Willingness to excel in a team environment and learn best practices for working on equipment that is unfamiliar or used in specialty applications (will be trained).
-Someone who wants to grow within a company and stick around in a job long-term.
