3rd Year Apprentice Mechanic (4 on 4 off)

Job Description :

We are working with a transportation company experiencing huge growth and currently looking to add an experienced mechanic to help sustain required maintenance needed to improve operational capacity.  In this role you will work outside in a yard environment and provide repair services to a variety of stationary machinery as well as transport and heavy equipment including loaders, forklifts, bobcats, crane, and trucks.   The ideal candidate will be an experienced heavy duty mechanic or millwright since the mechanics typically have opportunity to work on both mobile and stationary machines.


 


Duties include:





-Identify the maintenance priorities related to mobile equipment.


-Perform thorough visual inspections on all mobile equipment.


-Maintain the mobile equipment by following the documented best practices for that equipment.


-Diagnose problems related to mobile equipment.


-Replace defective or heavily worn parts and components.


-Adjust and tune equipment’s components.


-Test and validate repairs.




This is a great opportunity for someone seeking a high income to due to extensive overtime available and strong wage/benefits.  Candidate should be comfortable working with minimal supervision.


Required Qualifications :

-3 years experience repairing mechanically driven equipment and machinery


-Must be in good physical heath


-Comfortable and able to work with minimal supervision


-Welding/fabrication skills


-Should be a person who loves mechanical work and enjoys staying busy


-Comfortable working 4 days on 4 days off starting at 5am


-Available for relocation to Prince Rupert area if not already a resident.  Financial assistance is available for relocation.
