Lead Hand Heavy Duty Mechanic
We are seeking a licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic for a permanent, full time Lead Hand opportunity with our client in Calgary, Alberta.

The Lead Hand will direct and support workload for Heavy Duty Mechanics, apprentices, and welders, while providing mentorship and supervision to enhance quality of work, reduce re-work, and expand overall competency of the shop. They will conduct & participate in monthly toolbox meetings, participate in employee recruitment and performance management, and help drive continuous improvement. The Lead Hand will also be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and performing preventative maintenance servicing on our client's fleet of commercial transport vehicles. They will review work orders, evaluate and troubleshoot equipment, and perform maintenance and repairs as required. They will inspect motors in operation, road test vehicles, and test automotive systems and components using computerized and manual diagnostic tools and adjust, repair, or replace parts including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems as necessary.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for mentoring, training, supervising and evaluating apprentices on a regular basis, and perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

-Valid Alberta Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate or Interprovincial HD Red Seal
-Valid CVIP license
-Class 1 Driver's Licensed with Air Brake Endorsement an asset
-3+ years of relevant experience maintaining commercial fleets or similar
-1+ years of demonstrable leadership experience
-Ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and manuals
-Legally entitled to work in Canada
